Volunteer Committees
The Augusta Metro Chamber offers members an opportunity to serve the organization through volunteer committees. The selection of volunteers to serve on committees varies through either board recommendation, application or election.

Board of Directors
2012 Chairman, Mrs. Amy Winn, Winning Marketing Solutions

The Augusta Metro Chamber is governed by a Board of Directors composed of 27 business and community leaders. An Executive Committee consisting of the 5 officers of the organization and 2 at-large members provide oversight of the operational activities of the organization. The Board of Directors provides policy, approval and guidance to ensure that the interests of the members are served by the programs of the organization. Audit Finance Committee
2012 Chair, Mr. John Ray, First Bank of Georgia

The Audit Finance Committee develops and reviews fiscal procedures and provides in-depth oversight of the annual budget and actual financial results. This committee reviews investment policies and monitors funds of the organization on a regular basis.
Facility Committee
The purpose of the Facility Committee is to develop long and short terms strategies that will ensure the chamber has an attractive and productive work environment for its staff and volunteers.

Advocacy Committee

The Advocacy Committee represents a large and diverse cross section of the membership and is charged with understanding and analyzing legislative issues which impact members of the chamber. Red Carpet/Augusta Showcase
2012 Chairman, Mr. Tim McGill, Georgia Power

In partnership with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Allies, local development authorities and many private sector partners, the Augusta Metro Chamber hosts the Red Carpet Tour and Augusta Showcase each year during the first week of April. This investment attraction program geared towards to existing and new business expansion, coincides with the Masters® Golf Tournament each year as an opportunity to host top executives from around the world. The committee is responsible for the annual development and execution of this week-long hospitality extraordinaire.

Ambassadors
Allen Bonds and Alison Murphy, Chairs of the Committee
Members of the Ambassador Committee serve as mentors to new members of the chamber and work to promote existing members through their attendance of ribbon cuttings and other chamber events. Annual Golf Classic
2012 Chairman, Johnny Harmon, AT&T

Each year, nearly 300 golfers descend on the beautiful Gordon Lakes Golf Course for a day of fellowship, golf and fabulous social networking. Women in Business
2012 Chair, Mrs. Helen Caldwell, Georgia Bank & Trust

The mission of the Women in Business Program is to strengthen the business community by providing programs and services that enhance the professional and personal goals of women. This committee is responsible for the development and executing the programming and content of 12 events throughout the year including monthly luncheons and the annual Women in Business Signature Event. Manufacturers Exchange
2012 Chair, Ms. Marian Futrell, Procter & Gamble

The Manufacturers Exchange is comprised of representatives of area manufacturers who share common ground. The Exchange meets quarterly to share information about needs and conditions within the manufacturing sector and to share best practices.
Drugs Don’t Work,
National studies indicate that nearly 70% of persons using illegal drugs are employed. This startling statistic means that businesses face huge and costly workforce issues related to abuse of illegal drugs. The Drugs Don’t Committee is comprised of volunteers who serve as advocates for the program and develop timely and informative seminars on the affects of drugs in the workplace.
